The tea ceremony is a signature event of Chinese culture. During the tea ceremony performance, international students have learned the process of tea ceremony, tried different types of tea, and learned the benefits from drinking those types of tea.

Marrie (French), Malte (German), and June (Thai) have demonstrated what they have learned, for example, holding the teapots in the right gesture and pouring the tea for others.

“The gesture to hold the teapot is different between males and females. It is also impolite if your fingers point to other people while you are holding the teapot. Moreover, the tea ceremony can be diverse in different parts of China, such as the number of cups during the tea ceremony. In addition, it is mentioned that the taste and quality of the tea is more important than the tea ceremony performance. We have learned how to differentiate the quality of tea by observing its fibers” said Issaree Adisornphankul, a Thai international student.

The tea ceremony is a great opportunity for everyone to experience the beauty and the richness of Chinese culture.
